Data

Some of what the app knows about wine comes from open sources.

LWIN by Liv-ex

Some regions and wine names come from LWIN, Liv-ex’s database, licensed under CC BY 4.0. We changed it: we took the region and subregion and matched them to our own bottles.

Open Food Facts

To tell whether a barcode is definitely not wine, the app uses an extract from four open databases. Contains information from Open Food Facts (and Beauty, Pet Food, Products Facts), which is made available under the Open Database License (ODbL 1.0). The contents are licensed under the Database Contents License (DbCL 1.0).

That extract is itself a database under the ODbL. It only holds barcodes of products that are definitely not wine. You can download it here.

Natural Earth

The coastlines on the globe come from Natural Earth, which releases its maps into the public domain.

Wikidata

Grape varieties and where wine regions lie come partly from Wikidata, under CC0.

The app is built with open-source software. Below is every package inside the app and who made it, grouped by license. Each group ends with the license text, which applies to every package in that group together with its copyright line.
